CONTEXT
Within MSF, the Finance Department aims to ensure financial statements give a true and fair view of the financial position of MSF Belgium and ensures an optimal use of financial resources.
Within the Finance Department, the Finance Applications Support Unit (FASU) maintains, develops, and administers a range of applications and interfaces used by the Finance teams.
It serves as the center of expertise for these applications and their data structures and acts as a unique point of contact between the Finance department and ICT or any other units supporting or sharing data with these applications.
As the Finance Applications Support Coordinator, you supervise the FASU, ensuring that a robust support and continuous development strategy is in place. You define team responsibilities, foster collaboration with ICT, and contribute to the strategic direction of both the unit and the finance applications.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Finance Director, you ensure that finance applications are properly maintained, meet departmental needs, and that users receive timely and appropriate support.
In addition to overseeing the applications, you lead the Finance Applications Support Unit (FASU), cultivating a healthy, collaborative, and quality-driven team environment. You define roles and responsibilities, support team development, and ensure that the unit operates effectively and in alignment with the department’s strategic goals.
You also contribute to the definition of the Finance strategy and serve as a member of the Finance Department’s management team
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Organise, coordinate, and plan the work and priorities of FASU team members, in line with the Finance Department strategy, its needs and objectives
- Supervise, train, support, and empowers the unit members
- Define clear responsibilities and ensures effective collaboration within the team, with Finance department units and members, with ICT and any other stakeholders
- Coordinate the support provided by the team, ensuring it is prompt, qualitative, and aligned with user expectations and according to priorities defined with the Finance department MTM
- Ensure that communication from the team is clear and understandable for both business users and ICT
- Oversee the FARO (Finance Application Regional Officers) team leader, ensuring that training and support provided by FARO meet the objectives and expectations of the Finance department and L&D Uni
Applications & Development Strategy
- Define and maintain the support and continuous development structure for all Finance applications
- Oversee and prioritize application developments in collaboration with business owners
- Define the strategy for Finance applications in collaboration with the Finance Department and ICT
- Ensure that Finance applications are aligned with the global OCB ICT strategy, both in terms of architecture and governance
- Contribute to the definition of OCB ICT strategy to ensure Finance Department needs are covered
- Ensure alignment of application plans with departmental strategies
Data Strategy & Governance
- Prepare, monitor, and continuously improve the data strategy for the department under the supervision of the Deputy Finance Director and with the Finance Management team
- Ensure that Finance data is coherent, accessible, and available for analysis
- Coordinate the work of the data analyst to ensure relevant reports are available to users, including facilitating discussions and accessibility to non-Finance data for the Finance department users
- Lead the Finance Data Committee, preparing meetings in collaboration with the data analyst and ensuring follow up of action points
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain constructive working relationships with all Finance and ICT units, promoting cross-functional collaboration, shared understanding, and alignment between technical and financial processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with applications/data counterparts in other departments (HR, Supply, Operations, etc.)
- Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with ICT and external suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable support to financial applications
- Ensure supplier relationships are well managed, and that MSF receives adapted support
- Represent OCB in MSF international working groups focused on Finance applications and data, ensuring that the department’s perspectives and priorities are clearly communicated and taken into consideration
- Contribute to the harmonization of Finance applications across MSF OCB departments and MSF movement
ICT Project Involvement
- Play a leading role in the selection and implementation of Finance applications, ensuring they meet operational needs and strategic objectives
- Plan and participate in ICT-related projects within the Finance Department
- Ensure involvement or is kept informed of any ICT related projects that impact Finance processes, contributing to alignment and continuity
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, ICT or management or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Finance is mandatory
- Experience in data management is mandatory
- Experience in MSF Applications management or support is mandatory
- Prior professional experience with MSF is required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a management role is a strong asset
Competencies
- Excellent technical and organizational skills
- Team player with ability to communicate with colleagues and foster enthusiasm
- Knowledge of the MSF finance applications (WeFIN, Unifield) is mandatory
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 office suite & tools
Languages

Proficiency in English and French, both spoken and written is mandatory
